Busy month for sales - asking prices increase in May

The average asking price of Saskatoon listings on Saskatchewan's leading website for private home sales was $343,246 in May, an increase of almost $8,500 from April's average asking price.

A total of $71,451,747 worth of Saskatchewan property was advertised for sale on saskhouses.com during the month of May. The average asking price of Saskatoon listings reached its highest level since June of 2008, when the average asking price was $348,163.

Even with the increase in average asking prices, sales were brisk, with a total of 90 saskhouses.com customers reporting their properties sold during the month of May, and many others indicating they have offers pending on their properties right now.

So far in 2010, a total of $269,605,270 worth of Saskatchewan property has been advertised for sale on saskhouses.com, with a total of 254 sales so far.

The average asking price of listings in Martensville during the month of May was $346,592. The average asking price of Warman listings was $337,657, and the average asking price of Prince Albert listings was $266,515.
