Saskatchewan population growth continues

As of April 1, 2010, Saskatchewan's population was 1,041,700 - a growth of .36 percent in the first quarter of 2010.

Saskatchewan had the second highest growth rate of any Canadian province in the first quarter of 2010, and the .36 growth rate was its largest first quarter increase since 1972.

Nationally, Canada's population has surpassed the 34 million dollar mark and is now sitting at an estimated 34,019,000 people, an increase of 88,100 from January 1, 2010. The strongest growth in the country came in the four western provinces.

Saskatchewan's population growth is attributed mainly to net inflows in interprovincial migration (1,300) and international migration (1,500)
