Average Asking price stabilizes in March

The average asking price of a Saskatoon listing on Saskatchewan's leading website for private home sales was $322,733 in March - further evidence that house prices in Saskatoon are stabilizing.

March's average asking price was $3,894 higher than February's average asking price of $318,839, but it was almost $20,000 lower than the average asking price of $342,389 in March of 2008.

While prices appear to be leveling off, sales are picking up. 49 saskhouses.com customers reported their properties were sold during the month of March, and many more have offers pending.

Many sellers are also reporting excellent turnouts at open houses, with many prospective buyers moving to Saskatchewan from other provinces, and a lot of first time buyers looking to take advantage of record-low interest rates.
