Average asking prices remain steady in April

The average asking price of Saskatoon listings on Saskatchewan's leading website for private home sales remained stable during the month of April.

The average asking price of Saskatoon listings on saskhouses.com was $324,249 during the month of April, an increase of just over $1,500 from the average asking price of $322,733 in March.

The housing market in Saskatoon appears to be returning to a "normal" market after two years of rapidly rising prices and sales activity in 2007 and 2008.

The average asking price of a Saskatoon listing on saskhouses.com in April of 2008 was $335,899, $11,650 more than the average asking price last month.

Sales were steady, with 41 saskhouses.com customers reporting their properties sold during the month of April, and many others reporting offers pending on their properties.

The average asking price of saskhouses.com listings in Prince Albert was $269,687 during the month of April, the average asking price of Martensville listings was $365,607, and the average asking price of Warman listings was $364,567.
